В продолжение модных традиций, любви к игрушечным войнушкам и $300 миллионов от проката, на широкий экран вышла вторая часть франшизы «G.I. Joe: Бросок кобры 2». Предыдущая работа режиссера («Джастин Бибер: Никогда не говори никогда»), была рассчитана на женскую аудиторию нежного возраста поэтому Джон М. Чу очень обрадовался предложению продюсера Лоренцо Ди Бонавентура поработать над сиквелом: «Я вырос вместе с G.I. Joe и хорошо знаком с мультфильмами и комиксами про этих героев. Я чувствую, что фильмом мы сможем связать несколько поколений. Моя версия будет такой, какой хотел бы увидеть каждый фанат персонажей G.I. Joe». Те же, кто не знаком с продукцией игрушечной компании Hasbro, наверняка обрадуются появлению ветерана экшена, почетного спасителя планеты и ее жителей Брюсу Уиллису. В фильме он исполняет роль культового героя Джо Колтона.
Во время выполнения миссии по нейтрализации ядерного оружия Пакистана, спецотряд опять сталкивается с группировкой COBRA. В первой части франшизы, отъявленным злодеям так и не удалось завладеть миром. Чтобы достичь своей цели, они не гнушаются никакими методами, однако самой оригинальной идеей было заменить президента США на поддельного. И пока настоящий глава державы томится в плену, лже-президент вовсю устраивает показательные шоу в духе «кто на планете хозяин». Помешать его злодейским планам собираются выжившие герои G.I. Joe, а на помощь им приходит генерал в отставке Джо Колтон.
Создатели картины не поскупились на трюки, спецэффекты и напичкали фильм разнообразным оружием. Но самая зрелищная сцена сиквела, в которой ниндзя летают по склонах гор в Гималаях, снималась по старинке: «Когда люди увидят эту сцену, они подумают, что она сделана полностью в компьютерной анимации, - говорит эксперт Пол Борн. Но на самом деле, мы сделали много живых съемок».

В своих картинах Андрей Прошкин всегда снимал лучших и востребованных российских актеров (Алексей Чадов, Оксана Акиньшина, Ингеборга Дапкунайте) и тут «Орда» не стала исключением. Если вспомнить ранние работы режиссера «Игры мотыльков» и «Апельсиновый сок», которые среди любителей российского кинематографа занимают отнюдь не последнее место, они носили все же камерных характер. Режиссер не пытался произвести впечатление на придирчивого киномана бекмамбетовской зрелищностью, так необходимой сейчас на широком экране.
Так было до того момента, пока к Прошкину не показали сценарий «Орды». Сценарий ему не понравился, но от самой идеи режиссер был в восторге. Тем более, что эта самая идея подкреплялась вполне приличными денежными вливаниями. Переписать сценарий взялся Юрий Арабов, а локации для съемок фильма разместили всего в нескольких километрах от Астрахани в селе Селитренное, в том самом месте, где в XIV веке находилось столица Золотой Орды.
На данный момент фильм «Орда» стал, может, и не самым лучшим, но однозначно самым смелым и зрелищным в кинобиографии Прошкина. Что вполне объяснимо – костюмированная драма поражает своим размахом, а актерская игра - глубиной чувств и эмоций.
Фильм переносит зрителя в середину XIV века и повествует о событиях происходивших во времена правления хана Джанибека и с первых кадров знакомит нас с суровой реальностью кочевого народа, щедро приправленной беспричинной азиатской жестокостью. Чтобы вылечить свою мать от слепоты, Джанибек (Иннокентий Дакаяров) приглашает митрополита Алексея (Максим Суханов). Надежда на мгновенное исцеление молитвами татарской царицы Тайдулы испаряется сразу же после приезда Алексия. Чуда не происходит.
Хан колеблется между «убить нельзя помиловать» и не без удовольствия наблюдает за страданиями митрополита, вынужденного находиться на грани голодной смерти.
Экранное исцеление ханши и мытарства Алексия длится ни много не мало – почти полтора часа, оставляя желание сократить это действо, как минимум, минут на тридцать.
Прекрасная актерская игра Розы Хайруллиной не оставила равнодушным зрителя и не осталась незамеченной на ММКФ, где получила приз в номинации «Лучшая женская роль». К слову, еще в пяти номинациях отметила «Орду» российская киноакадемия («Золотой орел», 2013). И хотя география проката, в отличие от других картин Прошкина, расширилась до пяти стран, кассовые сборы все же ($ 2761529) не оправдали потраченный бюджет картины ($ 12000000).
