Жертвами стрельбы, устроенной в школе в США, стали 28 человек, - сообщает ИТАР-ТАСС.
Трагедия произошла 14 декабря около 9:40 утра по местному времени. Преступник - 20-летний Адам Лэнза - был вооружен двумя пистолетами и винтовкой, на нем был надет бронежилет. Он зашел в класс и расстрелял свою мать, работавшую в школе учителем, и всех находившихся в помещении детей. После этого он убил еще пятерых сотрудников учебного заведения, в том числе директора и психолога.
По данным полиции, преступник действовал в одиночку. Он был найден мертвым в здании школы. Скорее всего, он покончил с собой. Мотивы преступления неизвестны.
Кроме того, в одном из домов в соседнем штате Нью-Джерси было обнаружено тело одного из братьев преступника. Еще один брат Лэнзы - 24-летний Райан - задержан полицией, ведется его допрос.
Ньютаун расположен в 130 км к северо-востоку от Нью-Йорка. Всего в школе, где произошла стрельба, обучаются 625 детей в возрасте от 5 до 10 лет.
